The Civic Technologies for Women Friendly Cities will be a parallel event at the NGO CSW68 Forum hosted during the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) in New York City.

This event, a collaborative effort of the Red Dot Foundation, NGOCSW, and the Brave Movement, will explore the transformative potential of civic technologies in fostering inclusive and safe urban environments for women worldwide.

Jane Anyango - Founder of Polycom Development Project

Jane is the Founding Director of the Polycom Development Project – she is the convener of the Kenyan Women-led Urban Thinkers Campus – World Urban Campaign process towards The City We Need, Policy Unit Expert towards Habitat III, and has contributed to the successful lobby towards engendering of the New Urban Agenda.

Paula Pennanen Rebeiro-Hargrave: Deputy Director of UN-Habitat

Paula Pennanen Rebeiro-Hargrave brings 17 years of expertise in international development, specializing in policy analysis, program management, and resource mobilization for sustainable urban development and humanitarian assistance in Asia and Africa. With a robust track record in coordinating partnerships with UN agencies, the EU, global/regional development banks, NGOs, and governments. Paula is dedicated to advancing sustainable urban development, good governance, and capacity building across diverse contexts.

Sara Wahedi is the CEO and Founder of Ehtesab, which helps users in Afghanistan navigate gunfire, roadblocks, explosions and other security risks through its app. Created by Wahedi in June 2020 amid the Taliban regime's takeover, it maps out locations of reported incidents, allowing users to receive real-time alerts as well as contribute information. Wahedi was named one of TIME Magazine's Next Generation Leaders in 2021, and was among MIT Technology Review's Innovators under 35 in 2022.
